On 15-16 July, during the III Global Ukrainians Forum, Ukrainian leaders-expats will make recommendations for the government concerning the effective promotion of Ukraine’s interests internationally.
The forum organizer is the Global Ukrainians Network established last year, bringing together highly educated young Ukrainian leaders-expats with international experience and global thinking. The Global Ukrainians Forum creates a communication platform for Ukrainians from the US, Canada, Israel, Australia, Japan, EU, Asia, Africa and the Arab world.
It is expected that during the Forum participants will determine how to use the intellectual resources of Ukrainian leaders around the world to implement reforms in Ukraine in the most effective way.
Violeta Moskalu, the initiator and co-founder of the Global Ukrainians Forum, notes: “The most important resource which Ukraine has for systematic promotion of its interests in the world and for implementation of reforms in the state – is a network of Ukrainian leaders-expats, whom we call Global Ukrainians. As public ambassadors of Ukraine abroad, they can also speed up the “mental modernization” of the country”.
About 100 Ukrainian expats and 50 speakers from around the world will participate in the Forum.
Official opening of the Forum will take place on July 15. Participating in the panel discussion will be: Nataliya Mykolska, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Trade Representative of Ukraine, Lada Roslycky, International expert in security issues, strategic communications and international law with an emphasis on the post-Soviet countries, Olena Bekreniova, Director of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Charitable Foundation, associate member at World Academy of Art and Science, member of the Ukrainian-Polish Youth Exchange Council, Olena Derevyanko, Vice-President of DCH Group, partner at PR-Service Agency, Isabelle Dumont, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine (tbc), Roman Washchuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine (tbc).
During the second day, there will be four key panel discussions:
– Informational policy. During the panel public diplomats will discuss key national priorities for the informational policy of the state, identify major stakeholders and present plans for the global development of the project Global Ukraine News.
– Cultural diplomacy. Role of Global Ukrainians in the global promotion of contemporary Ukrainian art, cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the development of a strategy for Ukrainian cultural diplomacy.
– Business diplomacy. Global Ukrainians is establishing a Business Hub which will offer innovative and systematic approach for Ukrainian exports promotion on world markets and attraction of investment to Ukraine. Particular focus is on the markets of North and South America, EU, Asia, Australia and Africa.
– More effective promotion of Ukraine’s interests around the world. During the panel discussion recommendations will be made to various ministries based on the monitoring of the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on the main problems of Ukrainians living abroad.
The international organization Global Ukraine also continues to work on the creation of the innovative digital university “Global Academy of Reforms” that will unite Ukrainian academics and successful Ukrainians around the world (Brussels, Strasbourg, London, Berlin, Washington, Boston, New York, San Francisco, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Mexico, Johannesburg, Sydney, etc.) with Ukrainian students and young leaders from different regions of Ukraine.
By this way, participants of the Forum will discuss results of the first year of the Global Ukrainians Network’s work and develop a joint action plan for 2016-2017.
At the conclusion of the forum, participations will adopt the Forum resolution, which will be given along with other recommendations to the government and to appropriate ministries.
The I Global Ukrainians Forum was held on July 10-12, 2015 in the Ukrainian House in Kyiv. As a result of its work, an initiative committee and coordinators of working groups developed a common vision of national cultural and business diplomacy strategy, and presented it during the II Global Ukrainians Forum on October 31, 2015 at Kyiv Mohyla Business School.
The event will take place at Business School MIM, Shuliavska Str., 10/12.
